Anti-larva team detects 19 larva cases

Jalandhar: As part of its drive against vector-borne diseases in the city, the anti-larva cell of the health department detected 19 dengue larva cases in various areas of the city on Saturday.

Separate teams of anti-larva cell led by Pawan Kumar, Sanjiv Kumar, Sher Singh, Rajwinder Singh, Amanpreet, Sukhjinder, Vinod Kumar, Jaswinder Singh, Sarbjeet Singh and others conducted the inspection in the grain market, Railway Quarters, Maqdoompura, Katehra Mohalla, Chaugitti, Neela Mahal, Dhan Mohalla and Butta Pind.

The teams visited 474 houses covered the population of 1984 and checked 160 desert coolers and 510 waste containers. 

 

The members of teams told the residents that the desert coolers, containers could act as a breeding ground for the mosquitoes to spread diseases like dengue, malaria, and others. They said that the drive was aimed at identifying vulnerable places for producing the larva of mosquitoes.
