Education Secretary, Krishan Kumar leads from the front to exhort teachers to keep themselves hale and hearty.

Nawanshahr: As the teacher is the pivot around which the " Shikihiya Sudhar Muhim" ( Quality Improvement drive in school education) revolves, the secretary, Education Department, Krishan Kumar, has not only recently launched " Fit Guru" App but has also  been leading from the front to exhort teachers to keep themselves fit by accompanying them in the morning walk, jogging and exercises at Sukhna Lake in Chandigarh during the residential training workshops of the teachers. Besides, he has consistently been sharing the experiences of using the " Fit Guru " App with the teachers in the WhatsApp groups to mobilise the teachers to make it a daily routine to keep themselves fit physically and psychologically.

It is worthwhile to mention here that under the " Shikhiya Sudhar Muhim", the state education department, the state education department has virtually been making optimum utilisation of the creative and innovative potentialities of the dedicated teachers in devising new teaching-learning techniques, modules, activities as well as sprucing up the infrastructural facilities in the government schools for the past more than two years. As a result, the government schools have started regaining their traditional glory. The teachers have virtually been exerting their nerves to convert the government schools into smart schools buzzing with the different activities for ensuring all round development of the students.

The school teachers have really been putting in commendable efforts to change the public perception of government schools. They have been designing innovative teaching techniques, prepared the e.content of the syllabus, set up smart classrooms, organising different activities including ' Science Melas', ' Math Melas'. ' English and Social Science Melas', ' '   'Sports and cultural events',' Library Langar', ' Word of the Day' etc. to keep the school environment vibrant with academic and personality development activities. The results of Board examination held in March this year remain unprecedented and the enrollment has witnessed considerable increase", said the Education Secretary Krishan Kumar, while adding that to recognise the hard work and dedication of the teachers, the state education department has been organising " Sanmaan Samoroh" at the district level.

The "Fit Guru", a new initiative launched by the education department, is exclusively dedicated to the comprehensive well being of the teachers. The concept " Fit Guru" , signifies the importance of physical, psychological and professional fitness of the teachers to maintain the consistency of the qualitative improvement in the school education. While the department has been organising training workshops, quiizlets in English, Science and Mathematics, Word of the Day to enhance vocabulary in English and Punjabi etc ,  to equip them with the latest know-how to keep them up to date professionally, the ' Fit Guru' app has been launched  to motivate them to keep themselves hale and hearty to shoulder the responsibility  of the nation-builder in its  true spirit.
