Two women among five booked for cheating Lohian Khas village resident of Rs 10.15 lakhs

LOHIAN KHAS The Lohian khas police have booked five persons including two women on the charges of cheating a Lohian khas village resident of Rs 10.15 Lakhs.

Investigating officer (IO) Mandip Singh said that that the accused have been identified as Ankita Sharma and Sadan Rai Chaudhary  proprietors of Diamond City ,New Dehli,Arun Ranna and Akhilesh residents of New Dehli and Neha Jain  a resident of Chennai.

Ajit Singh a resident of Nahl village complained to Jalandhar (rural) senior superintendent of police in 2018 that he had purchased insurance policies of Canara Bank,OBC bank and HSBC banks. He said the accused approached him on telephones and lured him to invest in their company for huge profits. He said that he sent them a cheque of Rs 10 lakhs on promise of receiving Rs 44 Lakhs within few days.

He said that he received no money and that accused never replied his phone calls and thus cheated him.

IO said that a case under sections 420(cheating) and 120-B(criminal conspiracy) of the IPC has been registered against the accused after an inquiry and further investigation is on.
