Anti-larva team detects 23 larva cases

Jalandhar: As part of its drive against vector-borne diseases in the city, the anti-larva cell of the health department detected 23 dengue larva cases in various areas of the city on Thursday.

Separate teams of anti-larva cell led by Harpreet Pal, Amanpreet Singh, Vinod Kumar, Gurwinder Singh, Jaswinder singh, Sukhwinder Singh, Rajwinder Singh, Pardeep Kumar, Sher Singh, Sarbjeet, Amit Kumar, Pawan Kumar, Bhupinder Singh, Shakti Gopal and other conducted the inspection in Ajit Nagar, Railway Colony Dakoha, New Shiva Ji Nagar, Basti Danishmandan, Military Hospital Maqsudan, Raj Nagar, Bhargo camp, Kazi Mandi, Dilbag Nagar, Baba Budha Ji Nagar, Rama Mandi and Santoshi Nagar.

The teams visited 587 houses covered the population of 2468 and checked 115 desert coolers and 670 waste containers. 

The members of teams told the residents that the desert coolers, containers could act as a breeding ground for the mosquitoes to spread diseases like dengue, malaria, and others. They said that the drive was aimed at identifying vulnerable places for producing the larva of mosquitoes.
