Two persons injured in paddy stubble fire

NURMAHAL Two persons were injured seriously on Monday evening when they caught fire from paddy stubble fields set on fire near Kot Badal Khan village.

As per available information Niranjan Singh son of Sadhu Singh a resident of Bhullar village and his brother –in-law Ram son of Hajara Singh a resident of Meonwal village were travelling on their scooter (PB-37-D-8552) from Hari Pur village in Nakodar and when they reached  near Kot Badal Khan village they fell down in a low lying paddy stubble  field on fire  due to smoke and poor visibility  and caught fire and were injured seriously and were rushed to Nurmahal community health centre from where they were referred to Jalandhar civil hospital .Their scooter was reduced to ashes in the fire.

Paddy stubble fields belonged to farmers Sukhdip Singh son of Harjit Singh and Harjit Singh son of Mohindar Singh residents of Shamshabad village.

Investigating Officer Mulakh Raj said that he reached on the spot and contacted the victims who said that they do not want any police case as compromise talks are on.
