Travel agent arrested for duping villager of Rs 7.41 Lakhs

NAKODAR The Mehat Pur police have arrested a travel agent for allegedly duping a villager   of Rs.7.41lakhs on the pretext of sending him abroad.

Investigating officer (IO)Sarabjit   Singh  said that the accused has Avtar Singh  son of Makhan Singh a resident of Baloki village.

Tejindar Singh   a resident of Pandori Jagir village under Nurmahal police station had complained to Jalandhar(rural) senior superintendent of police (ssp) that he paid Rs 7.41 lakhs  to the accused for facilitating his migration to abroad  but he was   not sent abroad nor returned the money. He said that when he asked for returning the money the accused abused and threatened to kill him.

 IO said that a case under sections 406 (breach of trust), 420 (cheating) and 120-B(criminal conspiracy)of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and section 13 of the Travel Profession Regulation Act was  registered against the accused and  Lashkar Ram a resident of Natt village  under Nurmahal police station and Varindar Sharma now in Armenia(Europe) .
