Shortage of postal orders at Nakodar,Nurmahal post offices worries residents

NAKODAR/NURMAHAL  Many prospective candidates planning to appear in competitive examinations or applying for government jobs fear losing out on the opportunity as postal orders used to pay the application fee is not available at only post office in the city and Nurmahal post office.

 Postal orders of Rs10 and Rs.20 and other denominations have been out of stock for the past few weeks. Postal orders are used to deposit fee for applying for a government job or to pay the application-cum-entrance fee for competitive examinations and to pay fee for application filed under the Right to Information Act

Concerned post offices employees said that requests have been sent to head officer for postal orders which are being awaited. Postal orders are printed at the Nasik Security Printing Press. The central store of the Punjab circle of the postal department is in Ludhiana.
