Inaugurates seven smart classrooms and lays foundation stone of a room and dining hall

Announces grant of Rs eight lakh for Govt Senior Secondary Smart School, Jamsher Khera

 JALANDHAR: Providing quality education to each and every one is a priority of Captain Amarinder Singh-led Punjab Government for which the smart schools scheme was launched and it has produced excellent results, said Member of Parliament Santokh Singh Chaudhary today after inaugurating seven smart classrooms and laying the foundation stone of a room to prepare mid-day meal and dining hall at Govt Senior Secondary Smart School, Jamsher Khera, Jalandhar. He was accompanied by MLA Pargat Singh and Markfed Chairman Amarjeet Singh Samra.

 

 

MP Chaudhary announced a grant of Rs eight lakh from his MPLAD fund for the construction of the room and dining hall, which will be completed at a cost of Rs twenty lakh. The school caters to about six hundred students belonging to more than forty villages and is one of the best schools in Jalandhar. Providing education in both English and Punjabi medium, the school has made a distinguished name for itself.

 

 

MP Chaudhary said that Punjab Government had launched the policy of smart schools to impart quality education and focus on overall development of the students. “The government’s smart school scheme has become very popular and motivated the public to contribute towards improving our education system. Now, people are preferring government schools over private schools,” he added.

 

The Captain Amarinder Singh government has undertaken a project to install projectors in 6870 schools of the state to provide education through electronic mode.

 

Chaudhary Santokh Singh generously appreciated the residents and NRIs of the area, who have spent about Rs sixty lakh on the development of the school. He also praised the Principal Ashok Basra, teachers and staff for taking the school to new heights and making it a school of choice.

 

On this occasion, Block SamitiVice Chairman Gian Chand, Sarpanch Bittu Shah, Sarpanch Hardev Singh, Sarpanch Ram Kishan, NRIs Gurmeet Singh Maan and Rajinder Singh Maan, and Retd Princiapl Harbaksh Kaur were also present.
