Assistant Commissioner (General) directed HoDs to nominate Nodal Officer by November 21 to implement e-office system

SAS Nagar: Under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Girish Dayalan, district SAS Nagar is all set to make 'paperless offices' of the district by January 1, 2020 by implementing e-office system in each department, for which district administration have pulled up its sleeves.
Complying with the instructions of Punjab e-governance department to achieve the target of paper-free offices, including Deputy Commissioner Office, SDM offices and other districts offices of various departments, Assistant Commissioner (General) Yashpal Sharma has categorically issued directions to heads of all the departments in a specially convened meeting. He directed the HoDs to designate Nodal Officer of the concerned department by November 21 for the smooth implementation of the e-office system. He said that e-governance department and National Informatics Center (NIC), SAS Nagar will jointly impart specific training to Nodal Officers. Further, Nodal officer would be entrusted upon the duty to provide
names of officers and employees by November 27 to create name-based government e-mail Id and then complete details, including post name, joining date, retirement date and hierarchy of the officers and employees by December 5, so that files could be route through accurately.
Sharma said that the state government has issued strict instructions that the e-office system should be implemented by January 1, 2020 by all means. He said that although e-office system has already been started in Deputy Commissioner Office from November 1,
but in compliance with the government guidelines, now the e-office system would be extended further up to various departments of the district. "Well-built Internet facility for offices, located in the district administrative complex, has already exists. Now, the departments should further strengthen their basic infrastructure before implementing e-office system", he said, adding that no laxity would be tolerated thereon.
Assistant Commissioner emphatically said that review meeting to redress the problems in implementing e-office system and to warn the negligent official would be convened under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner.
