Rural Police arrested three Narcotic smugglers with the recovery of five kg of Charas, 1.4 Kg Ganja and 1 kg opium.

JALANDHAR: District Rural Police today claimed to have arrested three Narcotic smugglers with the recovery of five kg of Charas, 1.4 KG Ganja and 1 kg opium.

On the directions issued by Naunihal Singh, IPS, Inspector General of Police, Jalandhar Range, Jalandhar and Navjot Singh Mahal, PPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, Jalandhar (Rural) and under the guidance of Ravinder Pal Singh Sandhu, PPS, SP/Headquarters,   Sarbjit Singh, PPS, SP/Investigation, Ankur Gupta, IPS, ASP/Sub-Division Adampur and  Davinder Kumar, PPS, DSP/Phillaur, a special drive has been launched against narcotic smugglers and anti social elements.  The Jalandhar police received a major success when due to strenuous efforts of SI Jarnail Singh, SHO PS Adampur and SI Surjit Singh alongwith police party arrested 02 narcotic smugglers and recovered 05 KG of Charas and 01 KG of Opium whereas ASI Charanjit Singh & ASI Yousaf Masih arrested one narcotic smuggler and recovered 01 KG 400 GM of Ganja from him.

 

 

While addressing the press media,  Navjot Singh Mahal, PPS, SSP/Jalandhar (Rural) intimated that on 01-12-2019, SI Jarnail Singh, SHO PS Adampur and SI Surjit Singh alongwith police party while conducting patrolling were heading from village Bahodipur towards Kathar reached near village Mandhera, 02 persons carrying Kit bag were spotted coming from village Mandhera side, who on seeing the police party tried to ran from there.  The police party apprehended both the persons, who revealed their identity as Paramjit Singh s/o Rattan Chand r/o House No. 1363, Street No. 10, Mohalla Jit Nagar, PS Division No. 8, Jalandhar and Shiv Kumar @ Kala s/o Jaishri Ram r/o Pinjore, PS Haroli, district Una (Himachal Pradesh).  Ankur Gupta, IPS, ASP/Sub-Division Adampur reached at the spot and in his presence their search was conducted whereupon from the Kit bag of Paramjit Singh, 02 KG of Charas was recovered, whereas from the Kit bag of Shiv Kumar @ Kala, 03 KG of Charas and 01 KG of Opium was recovered.  In this regard case FIR No. 210 u/s 01-12-2019 u/s 18,20 NDPS Act was registered in PS Adampur and both the accused were arrested.  However, a deep probe of the arrested persons is being conducted and more revelations are yet to be expected.

  2. Shiv Kumar @ Kala (Aged about 29 years) s/o Jaishri Ram r/o Pinjore, PS Haroli, district Una (Himachal Pradesh).

(2)                                In the same series, ASI Charanjit Singh alongwith police party conducted near Sutlej Bridge, Phillaur, one person carrying plastic bag in his right hand was seen coming from Ludhiana side, , who on seeing the police party immediately turned back and tried to escape.  However, on suspicion, the police party apprehended him.  The apprehended person revealed his identity as Amrish Tripathi (Aged about 21 years) s/o Ram Sagar Tripathi r/o House No. 376, Sector-I, LDA Colony, PS Ashiana, Lucknow (UP).  On the spot, search of the plastic bag being carried by the apprehended was conducted by ASI Yousaf Masih, which led to recovery of 01 KG 400 GM of Ganja.  In this regard case FIR No. 398 dated 01-12-2019 u/s 20 NDPS Act was registered in PS Phillaur and the accused was arrested.  However, the police remand of the arrested person is being obtained and a deeper probe is being conducted.
