Faridkot: The dialogue between the Bhari Kisan Union and senior politicians and police officers besides the representatives of the government is still going on in the office of the market committee Jaitu.

According to the information available, Captain Sandeep Singh Sandhu, officer on special duty to the chief minister Punjab, B Chandrashekar , IG Ferozpore range,Kushaldeep Singh Dhillon, Faridkot MLA and political adviser to the chief minister Punjab besides Manjeet Singh Dhesi, SSP Faridkot had been having a closed door meeting with Jagjeet Singh Dallewal, state president of Bharti Kisan Union Sidhupur-Ekta and other representatives of the kisan union to discuss the farmers issues.

This is first important meeting after the suicide of the farmer on the spot of the Dharna on Saturday.

The meeting is being conducted from 2.30 PM onward and there was no response by any of the representatives of the Kisan Union till the filing of this report.

This reporter could not reach for the comments of Jagjeet Singh Dallewal, state president of Bharti Kisan union despite repeated attempts on his mobile phone at it was switched off for long.

Once contacted an hour ago, Dallewal asked to revert to Punjab Tribune in a few minutes, but the meeting is still on the way, nobody could be contacted for the outcome of the meeting.

On the other hand, the family of the deceased farmers stands with the Kisan union and dead body of the farmer Jagseer Singh, who allegedly committed suicide, is lying in a refrigerator in Tehsil complex.

The police have made very tight security arrangements and once in the morning, police had brought the water cannons and special task force on the site of the protest allegedly to disperse the protesters.”But it was later on withdrawn as there was some message from the chief minister office,” claimed a source.

It is pertinent to mention that Jagseer Singh,52, a resident of village Kotra Kalianwali had committed suicide on the spot of the Dharna on Saturday and his postmortem could not be conducted as the Kisan Union was demanding Rs 1 crore compensation, one government job for the family besides accepting its demands.

The district administration on Sunday conveyed to the kisan union that it was only able to pay Rs 3 lac as compensation and the demands of the union would be brought to the notice of the state government as the cancellation of FIRs and remission of Environment Compensation was not under the jurisdiction of the district administration.

But the Kisan union has been holding the stage protest for about a month in Jaitu urging state government to accept their demands besides paying all the farmers a compensation of Rs 2500 for not burning any stubble.

No update has been received so far from the Kisan Union about the conclusion of their meeting. Once the Kisan union had also put the dead body in a vehicle to shift it to other place.

But as per unconfirmed reports, it has been learnt that it was agreed that the loan of the farmer would be waived off, one government job to eligible family member would be offered and compensation to the family would be decided later on. But confirmation has been there in this regarding too.
