Eight booked for attempt to murder, firing

NURMAHAL The Nurmahal police have booked eight persons on the charges of attempt to murder and firing.

Investigating officer (IO) Avtar Lal said that the accused has been identified as Mandip Singh alias Manna son of Jogindar Singh a resident of Uppal Jagir village and his seven unidentified accomplices.

Sanjay son of Prem Kumar a resident of the same village complained to the police that he was returning home from his well in a car and stopped to urinate when the accused travelling in two vehicles confronted him.

He said that the accused Manna was holding a pistol in his hand while others with covered faces armed with baseballs and iron road attacked him with intention to kill him adding that he ran away to save him but the accused Manna fired five timed at him however he escaped unhurt. He said that accused damaged his car and fled away when his brother and a friend reached on the spot.  

IO said that a case under sections 307(attempt to murder), 427(mischief) and 148 and 149(rioting) of the IPC and sections 25/27/59 of the Arms Act has been registered against the accused. No arrests have been made and further investigations are on.
