JALANDHAR:KanyaMaha Vidyalaya Institution’s Department of Student Welfare and Department of Political Science organized Voter Awareness Programme under SVEEP Movement of Govt. of Indian which strives towards bringing about voter awareness in the wake of the upcoming elections.  SVEEP stands for systematic voters’ Education and Electoral Participation.  To come true to this motto KMV organized various activities like Poster Making and Slogan Writing pertaining to voting.

On this occasion a very enlightening presentation was made by Engineer Harjinder Singh Sethi (Nodal Office). He threw light on the rich legacy of the Nation and apprised the students about the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters to free India from the shakles of slavery.

He further adumbrated that India is the largest democracy of the world and the people of Punjab had played a pivotal role in the freedom movement but it is saddening that Punjabis lag behind when it comes to cast their vote therefore the onus lies on the shoulders of educated youth to spread awareness regarding voting.  Madam Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that such activities spread awareness in the young voters.  Voting is a right as well as a responsibility and every Indian citizen should be sensitized about this.  She appreciated Dr. Madhumeet, Dean Student Welfare,  Richa,  RashmiRandev, Dr. Neetu and  Ramanpreet for organizing this meaningful activity.  In the end the students took an oath to be a responsible citizen of India and exercise right to vote.
