Kapurthala village resident arrested for attempt to murder, firing, snatching

SHAHKOT The Shahkot police have arrested a Kapurthala village resident on the charges of attempt to murder, firing and snatching.

Investigating officer (IO) and Malsian police post in-charge Sanjivan Singh said that the accused has been identified as Jaswant Singh son of Satwant Singh a resident of Daudpura village under Dhilwan police station in Kapurthala.

Gurdial Singh a resident of Nihaluwal village had complained to the police that he was returning home after purchasing materials from Ludhiana on his motor cycle (PB-67-A-5196) on October 21 and when he crossed Malsian village the accused and his accomplices armed with a pistol and sharp edged weapons   waylaid him around 10.45 P.M. and asked to give all he had.

He had said in his complaint that we he told them that he has only material for shop and one of the accused holding pistol in his hand opened fire which pierced his left foot and shoe.

 IO said a case under sections 307(attempt to murder), 379-B (snatching), 341(wrongful restraint), 511(punishment for attempting to commit offences punishable with imprisonment for life or other imprisonment) and 34(committing crime with common intention) of the Indian Penal Code and sections 25/54/59 of the Arms Act was registered against the accused and his accomplices.
