Ex Students of Historic Khalsa College will join Hands to Project KCA World Over

 AMRITSAR: Days ahead of the upcoming Khalsa College Alumni Meet, scheduled to be held on March 5, which is also the foundation day of the iconic Khalsa College Amritsar, the Khalsa College Governing Council today announced Khalsa College Global Alumni Association (KCGAA), here. The body will be a platform for the ex-students of the historic College world over to join hands for thje promotion and development of the 128 years old revered institution.
 
The representation has been given to the ex-students settled now in US, Canada, UK, Australia and Europe and they will in consultation of the Principal, Khalsa College will arrange and make suggestions to streamline the efforts to project Khalsa College’s rich traditions and heritage. An appeal has been issued by the KCGC and Principal to all the alumni to give their valuable suggestions to further make improvement in the academics, sports, cultural and extra-curricular activities undertaken by the College.
 
Chief Patrons of the KCGAA, Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina and Principal Dr. Mehal Singh called upon the ex-students to help the College organize the upcoming Khalsa College Alumni Meet and help their alma mater to uplift’s its prestige and traditions further at the international level. ``There was a long pending demand from the alumni which is spread in each and every corner of the world. Thus the KCGAA has been formed”, said Chhina.
 
Dr. Mehal Singh said it was a matter of proud for the College that the rich alumni wanted to contribute to the College’s development and progress. ``With the help from the KCGAA, we will arrange the Alumni Meet on the campus annually. This time also a large number of alumnus of the College are expected to be gathering on the heritage campus on March 5”, said he. KCGC member and world acclaimed art and heritage exponent Dr. Davinder Singh Chhina will be Convenor and DS Rataul Co-Convenor of the KCGAA, said Dr. Mehal Singh.
 
Convenor Dr. Davinder Singh Chhina said the patrons of KCGAA include US based doctor Bakhshish Singh Sandhu, Canada based oil engineer Kuldeep Singh Sandhu, IPS Mukhvinder Singh Chhina, Olympian and IPS Kartar Singh Pehlwan and PAU VC Dr. Baldev Singh Dhillon. NRIs including Canada MP Sukh Dhaliwal will head Canada Chapter, Hotelier Daljit Singh Sandhu will head California Chapter, Prabh Gill, former MLA Canada will head Alberta Chapter, Bhupinder Singh Holland will head the European Chapter, Inder Singh Jammu, UK Chapter, Mehtab Singh Kahlon, Washington Chapter, Gurvarinder Kaur Sandhu, Pennsylvania Chapter, Prof. Shamir Singh, British Columbia Chapter (Canada), Gulvir Singh saini will head Perth Chapter, JS Cheema will head Calgary Chapter, Gurcharan Singh Dhillon will head Seattle Chapter while Hapreet Singh Bhatti wil be Media Coordinator.
 
Chhina said the executive body of the KCGAA will have PCS officer AS Bhullar, Retired SSP Gurdeep Singh, IPS Jasdeep Singh Saini, Deputy Director Sarbjinder Singh Randhawa, Swaran Singh Mohali, Gurcharan Singh Boparai, Gurpreet Singh Riar, Gurinder Singh Mehrok, Kulbir Singh Brar, Tejinder Singh Khalsa, Navdeep Singh Bharti, Dean, Harbaksh Singh Bhatti and Simmarpal Singh. ``The representation has been given to various sectors and more Chapters might be announced later”, said Chhina adding that they alumni is committed to work for the development and promotion of the Khalsa College’s rich cultural heritage.

Dr. Chhina said Khalsa College is celebrating its 128th foundation day next month and the KCGAA is duty bound to rope in alumni for the celebrations. ``We are also aspiring for the inter-cultural and inter-academics exchange programs through World Folk Festivals”, said he adding that any ex- student can contact Office of Principal, Khalsa College for registration to the alumni and visit the College’s website for the same.
