A theft in the commission agents’ shop in Jaitu, town, residents allege police inaction, claim the frequent thefts are happening

FARIDKOT: Some unidentified persons on Thursday night broke open a shop of Naresh Kumar and sons and GT Pesticides and they also broke open the safe in the shop jointly owned by the two firms near chowk number of 2 of Jaitu town.

The incident came to fore in the morning and no assessment of the loss could be made because the police secured the shop in wait of the Forensic experts to take the fingerprints, it has been learnt.

The incident of theft was allegedly noticed at about 5 am on Thursday when a shop of a confectioner was open and some sweeper was also near the shop.

As the confectioner and sweeper heard the noise, they started shouting at it and rushed towards the spot. On it, the 5 persons who had a Swift car fled in it. The car has also been captured in a CCTV.

The town has been seeing frequent thefts in it and on February 7, the locals had also staged a protest demanding strong action against the thieves and alleged police inaction. Even some office-bearers of congress and other parties also joined the protest that day.

The locals said that it is the same gang which is making thefts in the town.
