Four family members shot dead by cop by visiting in-laws house

MOGA: An incident of firing by an employee of Punjab Police, has come to fore at village Saidpur near Dharamkot of Moga district by a person visiting in-laws house.

In an inhuman act, the person fired at his wife Rajwinder Kaur, mother-in-law Sukhwinder Kaur, sister-in-law Inderjit Kaur while in this incident, Jaskaran Singh brother-in-law who died on the spot and his 7-year old daughter Jashanpreet  has been serious injured.  Both were admitted in the hospital where Jaswant Singh succumbed to his injuries. However, Jashanpreet is under treatment at Civil Hospital Moga. 

As per the information, the person is reported to be an employee of the Punjab Police and he has used the official weapon AK-47.

The senior police officers reached at the incident spot immediately on getting the information and the police started further investigation. The reason behind the killing could not be known so far. The cop who fired is reported to have been arrested.

The cop identified as Kulwinder Singh was posted in police line at Moga and attached with anti-riot squad of ter gas unit.  After committing, he is reported to have surrendered himself before the police and recovered his official weapon. 

However, as per the preliminary investigation, a marital dispute was going on with the family as it was his second marriage and his wife and daughter had gone to her parent’s house where he shot his family.
