Uttar Pradesh topped in candidates trained under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana

NAKODAR Under Skill India Mission, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship is implementing a flagship scheme known as Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) 2016-20 with an objective to provide skilling to one crore people under Short Term Training (STT), Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Special Project (SP) across the country for four years that is 2016-2020.

There were 4,054,708 candidates enrolled in India under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) as on 24th January 2019; out of which 3,732,177 (92.05%) candidates were trained as on the same period. The top 5 States/Union Territories (TUs) with respect to number of candidates trained under PMKVY as on 24th January 2019 were Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana and Tamil Nadu. Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship informed the Rajya Sabha in a written reply which has been posted on website data.gov.in.

It said that the number of candidates enrolled in Uttar Pradesh was 668,301 under PMKVY as on 24.01.2019. Out of which, 594,076 (88.89%) candidates were trained; which accounted 15.92% of the total candidates trained in India under PMKVY as on 24th January 2019. There were 322,999 (95.07%) candidates trained in Madhya Pradesh under PMKVY as on 24th January 2019 out of enrolment of 339,756 candidates. It accounted 8.65% of the total candidates trained in India under PMKVY as on the same period. As on 24th January 2019, 331,026 candidates were enrolled in Rajasthan under PMKVY. Out of which, 316,068 (95.48%) candidates were trained; which accounted 8.47% of the total candidates trained in India under PMKVY as on 24.01.2019.

The number of candidates trained was 276,164 and 261,699 in Haryana and Tamil Nadu respectively under PMKVY as on 24.01.2019. Haryana accounted for 7.4% and Tamil Nadu accounted for 7.01% of the total candidates trained in India under PMKVY as on 24th January 2019.
