MLA, DC and SSP assure people to deliver essential items to people at doorsteps in villages

JALANDHAR- MLA Shahkot Hardev Singh Laddi, Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma and Senior Superintendent of Police Navjot Singh Mahal today said that country was fighting a national war against hidden enemy in form of Corona Virus.

 

Chairing a meeting here at the office of the Sub Divisional Magistrate in Nakodar , the MLA, Deputy Commissioner and Senior Superintendent of Police said that people must be sensitised against the lurking danger in form of this fatal virus. 

 

They said that it was all the more important to ensure that save the precious lives of people. They said every administrative officer and other stakeholders of society were committed to take the war against Corona Virus head on.

 

They said that practical and effective method of disseminating essential goods and services, has been devised to utilize the existing structure of panchayats and wards to segregate population into manageable units.

 

They said that from each ward/panchayat,  a unit of dedicated, healthy and active volunteers which collect the requirement from individual households and then this unit will get the pass to collect the essential goods and distribute it in their areas following the unit is checked medically and made to ensure all requisite precautions in the system. 

 

They told that this method will utilize the existing panchayats and public representatives to  reach out and coordinate with public and it will drastically reduces the number of people who need to move out to get essential goods.

 

On the occasion, SDAmit Kumar Panchal, Dr Vaneet Kumar, Sanjeev Kumar, ASP Vatsala Gupta and others were present.
