Jalandhar administration provides 1.01 lakh litres Milk, 946 kg cheese, 9595-kg curd and 9687 quintal vegetables and fruits to people at their doorsteps

JALANDHAR:- Continuing its spree to provide the essential commodities to the people at their doorsteps, the district administration today supplied 1.01 lakh litres of milk and 9687quintals of fruits and vegetables.

 

On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma, several teams of the departments are ensuring these supplies on war footing level in every area of the district. 

 

The team of Milkfed led by General Manager Rupinder Singh Sekhon has been covering the majority of households in the district with Milk supply.

 

As per the details, around 1.01 lakh litres of milk to the people of the district besides, supply of milk, 946-kg Cheese, and 9595 kg curd was distributed through the authorised dealers of Verka in every locality.  

 

Meanwhile, 9687 quintals of vegetables and fruits were also supplied in the city by staff led by District Mandi officer. The staff ensured that people do not face any sort of trouble during the days of curfew.  

 

Similarly, the District Food and Supply Controller Narinder Singh also ensured the supply of grocery and other products to the people. 

 

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma reiterated that efforts would continue to ensure that people do not face any sort of problem. He said that the mechanism has been evolved to ensure that these services were readily provided. 

 

Sharma said that people should not get panic and assured them that the administration was with them in this hour of crisis.
