Canadian citizen arrested for supplying drugs, arms to gangsters

NAKODAR Criminal Investigating Agency (CIA) of the Jalandhar (rural) on Wednesday claimed to have arrested a Canadian citizen on the charges of supplying drugs, arms, and ammunition to gangsters.

Agency in-charge Shiv Kumar in a press release said that they had arrested a drug peddler Jatindar Singh alias Sunny a resident of Sohal Khurd with 25 grams of heroin on March 29. He told the police that he brought this drug from a depot holder at Mallari village identified as Gurdip Singh alias Bittu Walaitiya son of Budh Singh a Candian citizen and a resident of Mehmud Pur village.

Shiv Kumar said that 100 grams of heroin,30 grams ice,1 revolver 32 bores,2 pistols 32 bore,1 gun(scope),120 live cartridges,3000 US  dollars, one Canadian passport, and a Lancer car were recovered from his possession.

He said that the agency arrested Rimpy son of Jagir Singh a resident of Mohalla Rehman Pura ward no,7 Nakodar with 1 pistol and 5 live cartridges.

He said a case under sections 21/61/85 of the NDPS Act and sections 25/54/59 of the Arms Act has been registered against the accused at Nakodar city police station and further investigations are on.

Shiv Kumar said that five cases have been registered against Gurdip Singh Bittu in different police stations who were selling drugs and arms and ammunition under the grab of ration depot.
