First case of Cornonavirus in Faridkot, Harindra Nagar man tested positive, civil and police administration appeal public not to get panic

Faridkot: A 35 years old man from Harindra Nagar Faridkot, a posh colony of the town, has been tested positive for Coronavirus on Friday.

The patient has been admitted to the isolation ward of Guru Gobind Singh medical college and hospital Faridkot for treatment. His condition is stated to be stable.

KS Raj, district magistrate Faridkot and Manjeet Singh Dhesi, senior superintendent of police Faridkot held the meeting of district officials to take stock of the situation and appealed the district residents not to get panic.

“One man from Farikdot town has been tested positive for Coronavirus and has been admitted to the GGS medical college Farikdot in isolation ward. His condition is  hundred percent stable and he is recovering.The people should not get panic. Out of a precautious measure to contain the spread of virus, the locality has been barricaded so that no other persons from outside area enter the locality. Some of the police employees, medical staff also reside in the area and they would come and go out to perform their duties as normal. Besides, the people with curfew passes are also allowed to go out from the area,” said KS Raj, DM Farikdot, in press release to the media Saturday afternoon.

He also assured the residents of the affected area that they would continue to get all kinds of essential commodities and they can also go out to seek any medical help.

“The area has been contained as per the standard operating procedure, but nobody would face any problem,” he added.

The administration has also appealed the district residents to be aware of any rumours. In case of any problem, they can contact the district control numbers 01639-250338,256060.

The people can also contact at 01639-250947, 88948-28880(special control room numbers regarding Coronavirus), besides it, they can contact the control room numbers of the police department 01639-250713, 250731, 75270-17100.

“The service of the essential commodities like milk, vegetables and ration etc would remain as normal in the district, but the people are appealed to stay inside their homes and maintain social distance to help brake the chain of the virus,” the DC said.
