MP, MLAs, DC, CP and SSP join heads for further expediting distribution of relief material to the needy and underprivileged sections of society

JALANDHAR: In consonance with the directions of the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, the district administration would further expedite the distribution of relief material to the needy and underprivileged sections of society. 

A decision to this effect was taken during a meeting of Lok sabha MP Chaudhary Santokh Singh, MLAs Pargat Singh, Sushil Kumar Rinku, Rajinder Beri and Avtar Singh Bawa Henry, Chairman of Punjab Water Resources Management Corporation Jagbir Singh Brar and senior Congress leader Vikramjit Singh Chaudhary with the Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Varinder Kumar Sharma, Commissioner of Police Gurpreet Singh Bhullar and Senior Superintendent of Police Navjot Singh Mahal. 

During the meeting it was decided that there was no dearth of relief material in the state as the Punjab government was already sending loads of relief material for the people to give them succor in this hour of crisis. The Lok Sabha MP and MLAs said that the need of hour was to ensure prompt delivery of these goods to the people. They said that it was all the more important so that people could get the relief material in a time bound manner.  

The Lok Sabha MP and MLAs appreciated the efforts being made by the district administration in this regard till now. They asked the Deputy Commissioner, Commissioner of Police and Senior Superintendent of Police to further intensify their efforts. They unequivocally said that no stone should be left unturned for this noble cause. 

Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner, Commissioner of Police and Senior Superintendent of Police said that the district administration has already evolved a foolproof mechanism for this work. They said that every effort has been made to deliver the goods to people at their doorsteps. They said that joint teams of civil and Police administration along with that of Food and Civil Supplies department were doing a wonderful job adding that a senior PCS Officer and Estate Officer JDA Ms. Navneet Kaur Bal along with District Food and Supply Controller Narinder Singh were overseeing the entire operation. 

On the occasion, District Education Officer Harinder Pal Singh, Surjit Lal, Kulwinder Gakhal and others were also present.
