Move aimed at checking the spread of corona virus in the mandi

 Jalandhar: In a unique initiative aimed at keeping the Corona Virus at Bay in the Fruits and Vegetable Market Maqsoodan, the District Administration today organized special screening of vegetable vendors outside the mandi.

The officers of the district administration including District Mandi Officer Davinder Singh, along with team of Doctors led by the President of Indian Medical Association Jalandhar Dr. Pankaj Paul conducted medical/ temperature checkup of everyone entering the Mandi. During the drive screening of Around 2500-3000 Vendors was conducted. The team screened vendors for any Febrile illness with Thermoscan.

Dr Pankaj Paul and Dr Jangpreet Singh with his Team from Indian Medical Association led the screening which was conducted with the purpose to screen For Any Doubtful Case of COVID 19. Meanwhile, Sub Divisional Magistrate Rahul Sindhu said that the screening would continue in coming days too for ensuring that the spread of Corona Virus was checked at Mandi. He said that the mandi was of immense importance as hundreds of quintal of vegetables and fruits were supplied to residents of the city.    

On the occasion District Manager Warehouse Karundeep Singh and others were also present.
