Administration provides 96675 litres Milk, 852-kg Cheese, 9501-kg Curd, 5952 litres Lassi, 348-kg Kheer and 3269 quintal vegetables and fruits to people at their doorsteps

JALANDHAR:- In its drive to deliver the essential commodities to the people at their doorsteps, the Jalandhar district administration on Sunday provided 96675 litres of milk and  3269 quintals of vegetables and fruits to them.

 Under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma, various teams of the Milkfed, Mandi Board and Food and Civil Supply departments were working round the clock to ensure the supply of these essentials in every book and corner of the district.

 The teams of Verka led by General Manager Rupinder Singh Sekhon have been ensuring the coverage of maximum households in the district with Milk supply.

 As per the details on Friday, the teams of Verka ensured the delivery of around 96675 litres of milk to the people of the district besides, 852-kg Cheese, 9501-kg curd, 5952-litre lassi and 348-kg Kheer through the authorised dealers of Verka in every locality.

 Meanwhile, 3269 quintals of vegetables and fruits were also supplied in the city by staff led by District Mandi officer Davinder Singh. The employees of the Mandi Board ensured that people do not face any sort of trouble during the days of curfew.

 The teams of Food and Civil Supply led by DFSC Narinder Singh also were ensuring the supply of grocery and other products to the people through the teams.

 The Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma told that the district administration was making every effort to ensure that people do not face any sort of problem in the getting the essential commodities.

He said that an effective mechanism was evolved to ensure that these services were readily provided.
