Shops of agricultural machinery, repairs exempted from lockdown

NAKODAR Keeping in view the coming harvesting season in the country the Union Home Ministry has exempted shops of agricultural machinery and repairs from the lockdown restrictions.

Punjab additional chief secretary (home) in an official communication to all administrative secretaries, director-general of police,   divisional commissioners, deputy commissioners, zonal inspector general of police, commissioners of police deputy inspector general of police and senior superintendents said that consolidated guidelines of home affairs have been reviewed by the Union Government and it has exempted certain areas from the lockdown restrictions.

It says that shops of agricultural machinery, its spare parts including supply chain and repairs will remain open during the lockdown and the curfew.

It says that shops of truck repairs on highways preferably at fuel pumps will remain open and tea industry including plantation with a maximum of 50 percent of workers will remain open during the lockdown and curfew.

It is pertinent to mention here that farmers and combine operators were facing difficulties in the repair of machinery due to the lockdown.
