JKAACL to release special ‘Sheeraza’ editions on Mufti Mohammed Sayeed

SRINAGAR: J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages will release special numbers of its ‘Sheeraza’ journal in Urdu and English dedicated to Mufti Mohammed Sayeed at SKICC Srinagar tomorrow.

Giving details, Secretary JKAACL, Dr Aziz Hajini said as per precedence JKAACL has been publishing special numbers of its Sheeraza journal on its former presidents.
 
“In the past also the Academy has published special editions of Sheeraza journal on its former presidents Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah, Bakshi Ghulam Mohammed, and GM Sadiq among others,” Hajini said.
Pertinently, the special editions of Academy’s Sheeraza journal in Urdu and English slated to be released at SKICC on Sunday have articles on various shades of life of late Mufti Mohammed Sayeed by eminent journalists, academics, observers and companions of the late chief minister.
 
“These articles reflect life of late Mufti Mohammed Sayeed as observed by people from within and outside J&K,” Hajini disclosed, adding both the editions of the Sheeraza journal also carry interview of Ms Mehbooba Mufti, daughter of the late CM and the present President of the Academy.  
 
Slated to be released by the State Governor at SKICC, the release function of these Academy publications is likely to be attended by a galaxy of dignitaries. President JKAACL and state Chief Minister, Ms Mehbooba Mufti will also be present on the occasion.
 
Coinciding with the release of special publications on late Mufti Mohammed Sayeed, a photo exhibition reflecting various shades of his life is also being organized in the winter hall of SKICC.
“The photo exhibition is being organized on the sidelines of the event. In fact the special editions of Academy’s Urdu and English publications also have around 50 important photographs of the late leader portraying various shades of his life,” Hajini said.
