Glowing tributes paid to Gurdas Singh Badal

Bathinda: Eminent political and social leaders and people of all walks of life today paid glowing tributes to the Former Member of Parliament late S. Gurdas Singh Badal at his native village Badal (Sri Muktsar Sahib). It may be recalled that he was passed away after brief illness.

After the Bhog Ceremony, Punjab Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal stated that his mother and father had left for heavenly abode in a very short span of time, which is irreparable loss for him and his family. Our guiding light has gone and I feel unsheltered and bereft of their blessings, Manpreet Singh Badal said.

 

Expressing gratitude everyone who shared their grief with the family, Manpreet, while getting emotional during his address, stated that there is no greater virtue in life than to serve one’s parents and whoever still has this opportunity should take advantage of it. “With the prayers of my mother and the wisdom I got from my father, I have achieved this position in life”,  Badal said, adding that S. Gurdas Singh Badal, popular as Das Ji was deeply connected with the common people and the love of the people was his greatest achievement.

 

Describing various aspects of S. Gurdas Singh Badal’s life, the Finance Minister said that DasJi was like a large tree who shared love and affection; helping many political leaders emerge. He also created benchmarks of probity in public sphere.

Thanking all family members, relatives and well-wishers, Manpreet Singh Badal said that he would follow to the footsteps and principles enunciated by his father. I wow to remain committed to the ideals and principles laid guan by my late father, Manpreet Singh Badal added.

 

The Finance Minister personally thanked doctors, paramedical staff and all helpers and associates who served his parents during their illness, adding that he would always remain indebted to them.

Family members who present at the bhog ceremony today included former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, former Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal, Adesh Partap Singh Kairon, Deepinder Singh Badal, Lalli Badal, MaheshInder Singh Badal, Major Bhupinder Singh, Vinu  Badal, Parneet Kaur, Harsimrat Kaur Badal, Jaijeet Singh Johal, Gurraj Singh Fattanwala, Manjit Singh Fattanwala, Jagjit Singh Fattanwala, Arjun Singh Badal,  Miss Riya Badal, and Jagbir Singh Brar.

Parminder Singh Pinky, Gurkirat Singh Kotli, Randeep Singh Nabha, Lakhbir Singh Lakha, Gurpreet Singh GP, Rakesh Pandey, Baljinder Kaur (All MLAs); Chief Principal Secretary to CM, Suresh Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary Vini Mahajan, Dinkar Gupta DGP, Principal Secretary to CM, Tejveer Singh, Special Principal Secretary to CM, Gurkirt Kirpal Singh, OSD Major Amardeep Singh, Damanveer Singh, Sikander Singh Maluka, and Balwinder Singh Bhundar were also present.
