Commissionerate Police register 16 FIRs including 15 of without mask today

Cops issue 22202 challans, register 926 firs and nab 1120 violators since March 23

 JALANDHAR- Tightening the noose around the people who were violating the orders of the Punjab Government by not wearing the masks, The Jalandhar Commissionerate Police on Friday registered 16 FIRs including 15 against such violators who were not wearing the mask.

Divulging the details the Commissioner of Police Jalandhar Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said that Punjab Government had made it mandatory to wear a mask whenever anyone had to come outside.

He said that on Friday, 16 persons were arrested besides 309 challans were issued and 14 vehicles were impounded.

He said that the Commissionerate police had so far registered 926 FIRs including 370 against those without mask adding that 1120 people were arrested for flouting the norms since March 23.

Meanwhile, Bhullar said that the commissionerate police had issued 22202 challans and 1660 vehicles have been impounded by the Police since March 23.

He said that this drive would continue and the violators of the norms would not be spared. He added that strict action was being initiated against the people loitering around without any reason.
