Two arrested, three including women booked for attempt to murder

BILGA The Bilga police have arrested two persons and booked three persons including two women on the charge of attempt to murder.

The Investigating Officer (IO) Satpal said that the accused have been identified as Mandip Singh alias Jammu son of Paramjit Singh a resident of Essewal village in Shahkot and Ranjodh Singh alias Jodha son of Bhupinder Singh a resident of Malsian village in Shahkot.IO said that booked accused have been identified as Harprit Kaur a resident of Essewal village, her daughter Rajwindar Kaur and son Gurprit Singh.

Kulwindar Singh a resident of Rahim Pur village in Nakodar complained to the police that he entered with tractor in the fields of Santokh Singh at Uppal Bhupa village for plowing on May 23 afternoon when the accused reached there and stopped his tractor. He said that Harprit Kur removed hi turban and her daughter pulled his beard and dragged him on the ground and Mandip Singh brandished his revolver on his temporal bone and Harprit shouted “kill him and teach him a lesson of plowing land”. He said that others attacked him with sharp-edged weapons and seriously injured him and threatened him with dire consequences.

IO said that a case under sections 323(voluntarily causing hurt) 447(criminal trespass) 295-A (deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs.), 307(attempt to murder), 506(criminal intimidation) ,148 and 149(rioting ) of the IPC and Sections 25/54/59 of the Arms Act has been registered against the accused.
