Travel agent booked for duping Mehsam Pur village resident of Rs 10.40 Lakhs

BILGA The Bilga police have booked a travel agent for allegedly duping a Mehsam  Pur village resident of Rs.10.40  lakhs on the pretext of sending him abroad.

Station House Officer (SHO) Surjit  Singh   Padda said that the accused has been identified as Ashwani Kumar son of Darshan Ram a resident of house no.356, ward no.13, near Gurdwara, Tanda in Hoshiar Pur.

SHO  said that Pritpal Singh son of Dilbag Singh a resident of Mehsam Pur village complained to Jalandhar(rural) senior superintendent of police (SSP) that he paid Rs 10 .40 lakhs to the accused for facilitating his migration abroad but the accused did not send him abroad and not returned his money back.

SHO aid that a case under sections406(breach of trust) and   420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and section 13 of the Travel Profession Regulation Act has been registered against the accused after an inquiry.
