Woman among five arrested, booked for selling brewing illicit liquor

NAKODAR/SHAHKOT /NURMAHAL  

 The Mehat Pur police on Wednesday arrested a woman on the charge of selling illicit liquor.

Station House Officer Lakhvir Singh said that 9 bottles of illicit liquor were seized from the possession of the accused identified as Surinder Kaur alias Chhindo wife of Kuldip Singh a resident of Shah Salem Pur village .a case under sections 61/1/14 of the Punjab Excise Act has registered against the accused that was released on bail.

The Shahkot police arrested Gurprit Singh of Said Pur Jhirri village and Gursewak Singh of Mehmuwal village with 18 bottles of illicit liquor said station house officer (SHO), Surinder Kumar.

The Bilga police arrested Satnam Singh of Burj Hassan village with 9 bottles of hooch said SHO Surjit Singh.

The Nakodar sadar booked Tirath Singh of Pandher village for brewing illicit liquor and recovered from his possession 110 kilograms raw liquor who managed to flee from the spot   said investigating officer Lovelin Kumar.
