Don’t allow even the slightest movement of people in the micro-containment zones- CP direct officers

Asks them to take severe action against people violating norms in the city

 

 JALANDHAR: Jalandhar Commissioner of Police Gurpreet Singh Bhullar directed the  police officers to ensure maximum strictness in the city especially in micro- containment zones and take strict action against those not adhering to the guidelines of the state government to contain the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic. 

Chairing a meeting here at the police lines, Commissioner of Police said that any violation of the norms in the containment zones should be dealt with sternly. He asked the officers to ensure that no movement of vehicles and persons take place in the zones. He said that for any sort of lapse the officer of the concerned area would be held accountable.

Commissioner of Police said that the administration was fighting a war against an ‘invisible enemy’ and the officers were already doing a tough job. He said that the officers have been performing their duty zealously despite of challenging circumstances. 

 

He further asked the officers to continue this duty as it was a war Covid 19 pandemic, which has emerged a major threat across the globe.  

Commissioner of Police also said that vegetable and milk vendors of the containment areas would be given Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) along with masks and gloves to deliver essential items from house to house.  He said that medical teams were already carrying out door to door testing in these containment zones of the city. 

He said that any vendor does not adhere to norms and don’t wear them than his vehicle/ rehri would be impounded. They said that it was need of hour to further check the spread of pandemic in contaminated areas. 

On the occasion Deputy Commissioner of Police D Sudarvizhi, Gurmeet Singh, Mr Naresh Dogra, Mr Arun Saini and others were also present.
