23 office bearers of Maharwal Kheva Ji Trust ,including family members of last ruler booked on the complaint of Amrit kaur, daughter of Raja Harinder Singh Brar

Faridkot: The Faridkot police have booked 23 persons including the two family members of the Royal family of the erstwhile ruler of Faridkot estate Raja Harinder Singh Brar besides the other office bearers  of Maharwal Kheva Ji Trust Faridkot on the complaint of Amrit Kaur, 87,daughter of Raja Harinder Singh Brar under various sections of IPC for Cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property, Punishment for forgery, Forgery of valuable security, will, etc, Forgery for purpose of cheating,  Using as genuine a forged document and criminal conspiracy.

The case has been registered under  sections 420/465/467/468/471/120 B of Indian penal code at city police station Faridkot  on July 7 Tuesday on the complaint of Amrit Kaur.

Amrit Kaur, according to the verdict of High court had been allowed to retain her property rights in the royal property besides her sister, grandmother, who was alive when Harinder Singh Brar had died besides the younger brother of the late ruler of Faridkot estate.

Amrit Kaur, devoid of her property rights, had challenged the will allegedly written by her father.

The police have booked Jai Chand Mehtab, chairman Maharwal Kheva Ji Trust(MKJ),Nisha D Kher, daughter of late Depinder Kaur(daughter of Raja Harinder Singh),the vice chairman of MKJ tuust,Jagir Singh Sran, CEO,Navjot Singh,legal and income tax advisor,Paramjeet Singh Sandhu, assistant legal advisor,Santosh Kumar, cashier,Jaspal kaur, accountant,Bhushan Sharma, accountant,Shankar Sharma, accountant officer,Baljeet Kaur, superintendent,Harpreet Kaur, auditor,Babu Ram Pal, general manager,Madan Mohan Devgan, agriculture advisor,Naresh, accountant,BS Sandhu, engineer,Beparvah Singh, manager,Raghubir Singh and Resham Singh, both assistant managers,Kuldeep Chand, manager,Baljinderpal Singh Brar, attesting witness of the Will,Jatinder Pal Singh, vehniwal, legal partener of the RS wehniwal,SK Kataria, member board and Lalit Mohan Gupta, then CEO, all office beaters of the MKJ Trust.

The case has been registered against the above 23 persons on the complaint of Rajkumari Amrit Kaur, a resident of Chandigarh, who has alleged that the accused, in connivance of one another has cheated her on the property.

After the death of Raja Harinder Singh Brar in 1989, On the basis of a purported will dated June 1, 1982, Maharwal Khewaji Trust took over the property, estimated to be worth Rs 25,000 crore spread across the country in Faridkot, HP, Delhi and Chandigarh.After a three decade long legal battle, High court had upheld her property rights in the royal property deciding the case last month.

While two of his daughters, Deepinder Kaur and Mahipinder Kaur were the office bearers of the trust, Amrit Kaur was not a part of the MKJ trust, who was allegedly left out  of the property rights according to the purported will as she had married against the will of his father.

Mahipinder Kaur died single and she did not choose to marry.

Harinder Brar was Faridkot’s last ruler who had died in October 1989 in Faridkot.

His only son Harmohinder Singh, and his wife  Narinder Kaur had died before him. At the time of his death, he was survived by his mother Mohinder Kaur, three daughters — Amrit Kaur, Deepinder Kaur and Mahipinder Kaur besides his brother.

Harinder Singh Brar had surrendered his estate to the Union of India in 1948 and was allowed to retain some of his property which was estimated to be Rs 25000 crore in the court.
