DC orders stern action against liquor smuggling in district,

DC reviews excise and GST collections

 

 

 JALANDHAR- Deputy Commissioner Mr. Ghanshyam Thori today directed the Excise department to take severe action against any sort of liquor smuggling in the district.

 

Chairing a meeting here at the District Administrative Complex, Deputy Commissioner said that this would be dealt with sternly and strict action should be taken against the culprits. 

 

Thori said that exemplary action should be taken against persons involved in such actions including under the relevant provisions of the Disaster Management and Epidemics Act etc. 

 

Thori said that special checking should be further organised in the coming days to check liquor smuggling and bootlegging in the district.

 

The Deputy Commissioner said that concerted efforts need to be made by the joint teams of the Civil and Police administration along with the Excise department at the Tehsil and Sub Divisional for the purpose. 

 

Thori said that any such illegal act should be dealt with strictly adding that any sort of diligence on part of officer was unwarranted and undesirable.    

 

The Deputy Commissioner also reviewed the excise and GST collections and held detailed deliberations on Minimum Gurantee Quota. 

 

On the occasion Additional Deputy Commissioner Jasbir Singh and officers of Excise department were also present.
