16 more patients discharged from Covid care centre and Civil Hospital

Throat swab test of 28963 people conducted under ‘Mission Fateh’

26814 tested negative, 662 reports pending

 Jalandhar- In a major sigh of relief, 16 more patients including four from Covid Care Centre in Meritorious school and 12 from the local civil hospital were discharged on Sunday.   

The discharged patients were admitted to Covid Care Centre and Civil Hospital after being found positive and were treated by dedicated teams of Doctors led by Senior Medical Officers Dr Kashmiri Lal and Dr. Jagdish Kumar.

Upon discharged, the patients showed satisfaction and said that the state government led by the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh had made elaborate arrangements for imparting quality treatment to the patients in the Covid Care Centres.  

They also hailed the doctors and other health staff for ensuring treatment for them during this hour of crisis.

Meanwhile under ‘Mission Fateh’ program launched by the Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on June 1, the district administration has so far conducted 28963 throat swab tests.

Divulging the details, Civil Surgeon Dr. Gurinder Chawla and Medical Superintendent of Civil Hospital Dr. Harinder Singh said that in order to check the Covid-19 pandemic, the Health department was aggressively conducting tests to trace the Covid-19 patients in the district adding that the Jalandhar administration has so far conducted 28963 Throat Swab Test of the suspected patients in the district.

They said that samples of 26814 persons have been found negative whereas reports of 662 samples were still pending.Both the officers said that the Health department was making strenuous efforts to check the pandemic in the district and no stone would be left unturned for this noble cause.

The Civil Surgeon and Medical Superintendent said that these tests were being done continuously to check the spread of the Corona Virus in the district.

They said that the Health teams were aggressively conducting these tests adding that no stone was being left unturned for making Jalandhar a Corona free district.

The Civil Surgeon and Medical Superintendent said that till now around 12549 persons were home quarantined by the Health authorities for being in contact with the Corona positive persons.

 They said that out of these 11266 people have successfully completed their Home quarantine period of 14 days. Both the officers said that still quarantine period of another 1283 persons were active.
