Eight booked for violating DC’s order by organising Chhinj

NURMAHAL

The Nurmahal police have booked eight persons on the charge of violating Jalandhar deputy commissioner’s order on assembly of more than five persons at a spot.

The Investigating officer (IO) Paramjit Singh said that the accused have been identified as Gurmit Singh Baghiar,Amrik Singh,Rajindar Kamar,Subash Rai,Ram Lubhaya,Sonu Tut and Joga Singh all residents of Kot Badal Kan village and Tejindar Singh a resident of Shakot.

IO said that the accused organised without any permission a Chhinj(rural wrestling festival) on September 15 on Janata Nagar road in fields of Mohindar Singh where more than 60 spectators assembled and thus violated DC’s order and invited  

Dangers of spread of COVID -19 pandemic.

IO said a case under section 188(disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) of the IPC and section 51-B of the Disaster Management Act has been registered against the accused.
