Conditional marriage runs into dispute , wife, her mother booked for cheating of Rs 8 lakh in Bathinda

The husband of the woman has alleged her of not paying back her refunded fee after the visa was refused.

 Bathinda: When the flight to the green pastures fails to take off, the relations between the families performing conditional marriages not only turns sour, but also runs into legal battle, registration of criminal  cases.

In such a typical marriage,The Bathinda police have registered a case against Kanwalpreet Kaur, daughter of Trilok Singh and her mother Gurmeet Kaur of cheating the complainant, the husband of the accused of Rs 8 lakh.

The complainant has stated to the police that he had got married to the accused on December 1,2019 on the condition that all the expenses of doing IELTS and fees for study visa of her(the accused) would be borne by his family which it did.

But when the visa of the accused was refused, the concerned college off shore refunded her fees Rs 14222 Dollars to her account.

“But when I demanded my money Rs 8 lakh back from the accused, she refused and thus cheated me of the same amount,” alleged Lakhwinder Singh son of Bhupinder Singh, a resident of Qila road Bathinda.

A case under section 420(cheating) and 120 B (criminal conspiracy)of IPC has been registered at city police station Bathinda.

No arrest has been made so far according to the police.
