Punjab Education Department celebrates " Teachers' Fortnight' to commemorate Teachers Day.

JALANDHAR: With a view to recognising and lauding the relentless dedicated efforts being put in by the government school teachers for the successful implementation of  " Sikhiya Sudhar Muhim" at the cutting edge level, the Education Department, Punjab,  has observed " Teachers Fortnight" to commemorate theTeachers Day. 
   
During the fortnight, the school teachers have been honoured with the appreciation letters. Following advisories in wake of the COVID-19,  a small symbolic  " Sanmaan Samaroh" was organised at District Education Office, Jalandhar. The Education Secretary, Krishan Kumar, other officials, school heads, teachers participated in the ceremony digitally. 
   
The Education Secretary, Krishan Kumar, while felicitating the teachers said that without the dedicated efforts of the school teachers, it would have never been possible for the Punjab government to translate the dream of bringing in qualitative improvement in education into reality. 
   
" The school teachers have not only been putting in dedicated efforts to ensure augmentation and extension of infrastructural facilities with proper utilisation of government grants as well as community moblisation but they have also been doing really commendable job in various drives like " Each One, Bring One", " Smart School", " MIsion Cent Percent" , " Distribution of Text Books, Mid Day Meal", " Developing Punjab Educare App" " Punjab Achievement Survey" and " Ensuring optimum utilisation of latest digital application for  On Line Education" during the closure of schools for the past six months in wake of COVID pandemic, further said Krishan Kumar while adding that it was really incredible that though the schools had been lying closed but the teachers had strengthened their bond with their students and parents so cohesively that the students had been sending innocent messages to clear their doubts regarding  their study. The
 
" Sikhiya Sudhar Muhim" , has virtually been converted into a mass movement, it could easily be gauged from the fact that during the week long " Virtual Parents Teachers Meet", the government school teachers had interacted with parents of more than 18 lakh students to take stock of the progress report of their 
   
The Education Secretary especially luaded the Jalandhar Team of Teachers for developing  and operating " Punjab Eucare App", which has been a landmark contribution towards digital education. The lakhs of students, not only belonging to Punjab government schools, but belonging to other Boards as well as other states have been availing of its benefit. 
     
District Education Officer(SE), Harinder Pal Singh, DEO(EE), Ram Pal,  Deputy District Education Officers(SE) Rajiv Joshi and  Deputy DEO(EE), Gurcharan Singh, also addressed the webinar and lauded the dedication of the school teachers.
