Two women among sixteen booked for assault, ransacking vehicles

SHAHKOT The Shahkot police have booked sixteen persons including two women of the charges of assaulting a man and ransacking his vehicles.

The investigating officer (IO) and Talwandi Sanghera  police post in-charge Bhupindar Singh said  that the accused have been identified as Harmanprit Singh,his mother Manjit Kaur ,brother Jasprit Singh,Avtar Singh ,his wife Rannjit Kaur sons Gurindar Singh and Manjindar Singh,Mandip Singh and Jatindar Singh all residents of Jagat Pur Sohal village and their seven unidentified accomplices.

Sukhjit Singh a resident of the same village complained to the police that he was returning home with his brother in a vehicle when the accused waylaid him and barged into his house assaulted and injured him and ransacked two vehicles parked inside house and threatened him with dire consequences.

IO said that a case under sections 323(voluntarily causing hurt) 458(lurking house trespass) 427(mischief) 506(criminal intimidation) and 34(committing crime with common intention) of the IPC has been registered against the accused.
