Near total bandh in Nakodar,Shahkot,Nurmahal

NAKODAR The Punjab bandh was near total in Nakodar,shahkot  sub divisions and Nurmahal sub tehsil  with a majority of the shops and other business establishments remained closed. However government

offices, banks, chemists’ shops and petrol pumps were open.
A call of bandh was given by the farmers’ organizations over the three contentious farm legislations. 

During bandh the protesters raised slogans against the Centre and said that these bills will destroy the farmers.Dharnas, rallies were held and effigies were burnt

Farmers’ leaders are expressing apprehensions that these bills will pave a way for dismantling the minimum support price system leavening them at the mercy of big corporate

  The three bills –Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Bill, the Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and farm Services Bill and Essential Commodities Bill were passed by the Parliament recently.
