SVC would transform Phillaur’s villages: Vikramjit Singh Chaudhary

Works worth Rs 46.25 crore virtually inaugurated in nine villages of block Phillaur

 PHILLAUR: Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi, along with Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, on Saturday kickstarted the second phase of Punjab Government’s Smart Village Campaign (SVC) with the virtual launch of a Rs 2774 crore scheme to power the state’s complete rural transformation. During this launch, they inaugurated works in 1500 villages of the state simultaneously.

During the launch of the programme, Rahul Gandhi stressed upon the importance of villages to keep the nation’s foundations strong and said that the campaign would strengthen the foundation of rural areas of Punjab.

Participating in the launch function from village Dosanjh Kalan, former Punjab Youth Congress President and Phillaur assembly constituency incharge Vikramjit Singh Chaudhary said that the second phase of Smart Village Campaign would completely transform the villages of Phillaur.

In block Phillaur, projects worth Rs 46.25 lakh were inaugurated in villages Dosanjh Kalan, Dialpur, Virk, Apra, Muthadda Khurd, Mau Sahib, Nagar, Chak Desraj and Dhandwar.

Expressing happiness on this occasion, Vikramjit Chaudhary thanked Rahul Gandhi and Captain Amarinder Singh for initiating the second phase of SVC. He stated that the second phase would build upon the progress made in first phase and enhance quality of life and living standards of people.

BDPO Phillaur Ranjit Singh Khatra, Goraya City Congress Vice President Sanjay Atwal, Municipal Councillor Goraya Roshan Lal, Dosanjh Kalan Sarpanch Makhan Singh, Dosanjh Kalan former Sarpanch Manohar Singh, Govt. Sr. Sec. School Dosanjh Kalan Principal Satya Rani, Manohar Lal, Rana Iqbal Singh, Manoj Gogna, Usha Rani and Pandit Mangat  Rai were among those present on the occasion.
