Migrant family working at brick kiln allegedly commits suicide by setting themselves ablaze

Faridkot: In a tragic incident, 4 perons of a family inlcuing two children on Saturday allegedly committed suicide by setting themselves ablaze in village Kaler of Faridkot,8 kms away from the town.

The victim, Dharmpal,40, belonged to Siker district of Rajasthan and worked at a brick kiln as clerk near village Kaler and had been staying along with his wife Seema,36 and two children for many years in the village.

The deceased have been identified as Dharampal, his wife Seema, two children , the daughter of the couple Monika,15 and their son Hitesh,10.

The family allegedly committed suicide because it had been upset due to the impact of Coronavirus triggered lockdown as per a suicide note purportedly written by Dharmpal. The three page suicide note carries his signatures and one page of the suicide note dates back to March while two to October, just before the incident.The incident of alleged suicide came to light this morning when the locals found the smoke coming out of their house.

The village people immediately broke open the door and found the four dead bodies charred by the fire. The police officials rushed to the spot and dead bodies were sent for the post mortem examination.

When contacted, Station house officer police station Sadar inspector Jasvir Singh said the police have proceeded under section 174 of CrPC.
