Two members of in-laws family booked for dowry harassment

NAKODAR The Mehat Pur police have booked two members of the in-laws family for dowry harassment

The investigating officer (IO) Tirath Ram   said that the accused have been identified as Jatindar Singh son of Mohann Singh   a resident of Jalaha Majara village in Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar and his mother Balwindar  Kaur .

Gurpreet Kaur a resident of Mohalla Samra Mehat Pur had complained to the senior superintendent of police that her marriage was solemnized with Jatindar Singh but after some time she was being continuously harassed for dowry.

IO said that a case under section 406 (breach of trust) and 498-A (husband or relative of husband of a woman subjecting her to cruelty) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the accused after an inquiry and further investigations are on.
