Four booked for brewing illicit country made liquor

NURMAHAL          The Bilga police have booked four persons on the charge of brewing illicit country-made liquor.

The investigating officer (IO) Daljit Kumar  said that the  accused have been identified as Kulvir Singh,Surjit Singh and Malkit Singh residents of Burj Hassan village, and Chhindar Pal a resident of Poadharra village

 IO said that the police have received information that some persons were brewing illicit liquor in River Sutlej near Burj Hassan village and when a raid was conducted the accused managed to flee from the spot and 6500-kilogram Lahann (raw liquor) and utensils for storing and brewing were recovered.

 IO said that a case under section 61/1/14 of the Excise Act has been registered against the unidentified accused.
