NAKODAR More than 40 forms have been submitted by prospective candidates in the Congress for the elections to the Municipal Council. Party workers and leaders interested in contesting the election were asked to fill a form and submit it with the party for consideration.

Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee General Secretary and party observer for Nakodar Gurmail Singh Pehalwan told media that the forms will be scrutinized and senior leaders of the party will take a decision after which an announcement about the possible candidates will be made. Some candidates have submitted multiple forms for the same ward. Candidates are to be announced for 17 wards in the city. The last date for submission is January 12.

Candidates have been asked to fill in the wards of their preference as well as why they should be given the ticket, apart from other personal details.
