10 villagers booked for brewing illicit liquor

NAKODAR The Mehat Pur police have booked nine villagers on the charge of brewing illicit liquor.

The investigating officer Satpal Singh said that 562litters and 500 millilitres of hooch, 1 lakh 5000 kilograms Lahann (raw liquor) and utensils for storing and brewing were recovered from the accused identified as Hansa Singh,Rup Singh, Balraj Singh and Jassa Singh residents of Dharme Dian Chhana  village ,Kulwindar Singh ,Prem Singh and Gopi Singh resident of Bute Dian Chhana village and Bittu Singh and Malkit Singh residents of Umrewal village who managed to flee from the spot.

A case under section 61/1/14 of the Excise Act has been registered against the accused.
