Bathinda: Central University of Punjab organised a Webinar on ‘Building an Ecosystem of Incubation and Innovation’. The programme was jointly conducted by CUPB Incubation and Start-up Support Centre (ISSC), Research Park and Institutional Innovation Council (IIC) under the patronage of Vice Chancellor Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari. The keynote speaker of this programme was Prof. Unnat P. Pandit, Dean, Atal Bihari Vajpayee School of Management and Entrepreneurship, JNU, Delhi who shared his views with faculty, students and budding innovators of the university.

While addressing the participants, Prof. Unnat P. Pandit emphasized the need to tap the potential of young students and convert their innovative ideas into start-ups & to produce meaningful societal outcomes. He shared that the process from 'an idea to entrepreneur outcome' goes through a lot of phases of testing, success/failure, retesting. He stressed that it requires consistent effort, guidance and determination to turn an idea into a successful business venture. He mentioned that a good entrepreneur should have strong leadership & interpersonal skills and he should not get discouraged with failure. He stated that the initial phases of a start-up require mentoring as well as financial support and suggested that budding entrepreneurs need to follow SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Time-based) Policy to minimize their business risk. Post lecture, Prof. Pandit clarified doubts of the attendees and resolved queries raised by members of IIC and ISSC as well.

Prof. Anjana Munshi, Chairperson, ISSC, complimented keynote speaker for delivering a scholarly lecture and sharing valuable information with participants. At the start, Prof. Monisha Dhiman, President, IIC, welcomed the participants. Towards the end, Dr. Sandeep Singh delivered the formal vote of thanks.
