LPU to host Regional Final of One Million Dollar Startup Challenge-Hult Prize

Hult Prize Startup Challenge is considered as Students’ Nobel Prize

LPU is chosen among world’s 50 co-hosts from a record number of bids by 3,000+ organizations including Foundations, NGOs, Higher- Education institutions from across the world

Regional final round of the ‘Hult Prize’ for 74 teams of five countries- Mexico, Nepal, Bangladesh, Ghana including India will be held at LPU Campus

Some of the other locations for ‘Regional Impact Summits’ world over, vis-a-vis that of LPU at Punjab in India, are London, Melbourne, Toronto, Nairobi, Vienna, St. Petersburg, Dubai, Kuala lumpur, Bangkok, Manila, Taipei and more  

 

 

 Jalandhar: LPU is slated to host two-day regional final of one million dollar startup challenge-Hult Prize at its campus on 19th & 20th March 2021, virtually. This challenge is considered as students’ Nobel Prize. Motivating ‘Hult Prize Punjab Impact Summit’ will witness on-campus rounds’ winning 74 teams of the colleges and universities of five countries- Mexico, Nepal, Ghana, Bangladesh and India. It is to bring forth vivid start-up plans by aspiring student entrepreneurs.  

Former President of America, Bill Clinton holds that the “Hult Prize is how the world has to work in the 21st century”. President Clinton selects the challenge topic and announces the winner each September. The theme of the challenge this year is ‘Food for Good: Food for Impact’.

 

LPU is chosen among world’s 50 co-hosts from a record number of bids made by 3,000+ organizations including Foundations, NGOs, and Higher- Education institutions from across the world. Some of the other locations for ‘Regional Impact Summits’ world over, vis-a-vis that of LPU at Punjab in India, are London, Melbourne, Toronto, Nairobi, Vienna, St. Petersburg, Dubai, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Manila, Taipei and more.

Two-day regional Impact summit will showcase inspirational events where youth share innovative ideas, learn from peers and industry experts. The activity is awarding the most prestigious startup prize in the world. It is a one million (1,000,000)  American Dollar seed capital grant to a university team of students who will be selected as Hult Prize Laureate at the annual Awards Ceremony and Gala hosted by the United Nations.

For this responsibility accorded to LPU, COO at the Hult Prize Foundation, Charlemagne Quinitio credits LPU’s commitment to bring up forward- thinking leaders who put emphasis on shared value.  He holds: “It’s not every day you find a partner organization that feels the exact same you do about the potential of young people to change the world. We are really looking forward to seeing the regional level impact that our Impact Summit at Punjab can have.” Similarly, Campus Director for Hult Prize at LPU, international student Emmanuel Borna Peasah shares-“LPU has been acknowledged for hosting many outstanding national and International events.”

In fact, through a flagship one-million-dollar global entrepreneurship prize, the Hult Prize Foundation has helped launch thousands of startups that actively solve UN SDGs (United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals) and create new jobs across 121 countries. The Hult Prize has brought impact-focused programs and events to millions of people, creating a pathway for youth everywhere to take action to build a better world.
