Two villagers booked for illegal sand mining

SHAHKOT  The Shahkot police have booked two villagers for alleged illegal sand mining. 

The Investigating Officer (IO) Harbhajan Lal said that the accused have been identified as Bachan Singh and Jogindar Singh residents of Chak Bahmannia village.

 IO said that the accused were indulging in illegal sand mining from the river Sutlej.

 A case under Section 21 of the Punjab Mines Act and section 379(theft) of the IPC has been registered against the accused.
